About the studio

Built by people who read the standards so you don't have to.

The AI Literacy Shop is an independent curriculum studio making printable, standards-aligned AI-literacy lessons for grades 6–12. No hype, no faceless "AI curriculum" — just lessons you can defend to an administrator and teach on Monday.

Why we exist

The secondary years are the window — before bad AI habits set in.

Students arrive already using chatbots, often to skip the thinking. We don't think the answer is panic or a ban — it's structure. So we build lessons that teach students to question AI, check it, cite it, and use it with judgment, mapped to the standards your school already cares about.

Every product is print-first and documented down to the specific ISTE, CCSS and AI4K12 code, so "standards-aligned" is something you can verify, not just a label we stuck on.

Straight about who we are: we're a curriculum studio — not a single classroom teacher, and not a school district. We build, test and document these lessons full-time. We say it plainly because trust matters more than pretending to be something we're not. Maya is the editorial voice of The AI Literacy Shop — notes are AI-drafted and reviewed by a former classroom teacher before every send.
Our promise

What every lesson holds to

  • Real standards, documented

Specific ISTE, CCSS and AI4K12 codes printed on the page — verifiable against the official frameworks.

  • Print-first, always

Designed for paper and a copier. No subscriptions, no devices required, no paid AI account.

  • Student-first, not vendor-first

Framed around helping students think, not around making AI look exciting. Quietly confident, never hype.

  • FERPA-aware by design

Nothing here collects student data or asks students to create AI accounts. Privacy is the default.
