About the shop

Built by an educator. For educators teaching tomorrow's literacy.

Why this shop exists

In 2026, every middle school classroom has a quiet AI problem: students are using ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot every week — and most curricula don't mention any of it. Teachers we talked to in the planning stages of this shop all said the same thing: they want to teach AI literacy properly, but the materials available either skip the standards-alignment (the free PDFs floating on Pinterest) or sit behind a district-level paywall (the enterprise platforms).

The AI Literacy Shop fills the middle. Every resource here maps to ISTE 1.3.d (Digital Citizen — evaluation of digital sources), CCSS literacy strands for grades 6-12, and the AI4K12 Five Big Ideas framework. Each lesson is printable, editable, and built so the teacher next door can pick it up tomorrow.

How we use AI in our own work

We use AI assistance during the drafting phase — primarily for outlining, rephrasing for grade-level readability, and generating example content for activities. Every lesson is reviewed and finalized by a human educator before it ships. We disclose AI use both here and inside each product file, because that's the same transparency we ask students to practice.

What we promise

  • Standards-aligned, not standards-adjacent. Every product cites the specific ISTE/CCSS/AI4K12 anchor it teaches.
  • Print-first, projection-second. Everything works on paper. Slides are a bonus, not a requirement.
  • No paid AI accounts required. Lessons reference free-tier AI tools and provide "no-internet" fallbacks for schools that block AI access.
  • FERPA-aware. No student-data collection in any activity. Prompt examples are generic, not student-specific.
